Visiting Mihajlo Gavrić

Mihajlo Gavrić from Stanari, a graduate agronomist, has been engaged in agriculture for many years. He is a President of the Association “Farmer” from Stanari, and gives a great contribution to the agricultural development of this region through numerous projects which he prepares and implements with various donors. Two years ago, with the help of IFAD, he started growing the organic strawberries, currently with a lot success covering the area of ​​2 acres. High-quality strawberry, grown in organic conditions, under the well-known brand “Krnjina strawberry” has secured placement from the very beginning. We convinced ourselves in the irreproachable, natural taste and smell of strawberries while visiting his greenhouse. The association, headed by Mihajlo, is currently looking for investors to extend the strawberry plantations, and to purchase strawberry freezing and drying equipment, which will also ensure the processing of organically grown products.

Mihajlo won the second prize for the greatest number of likes by facebook users in our competition “Our Treasure 2019”. During the visit, we handed a well-deserved award to Mihajlo and discussed our joint projects to be implemented in the near future.
